Position Paper Information
Position Papers are due AT 11:59 PM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 10TH.
If you are not able to submit your position paper by this date and fail to notify your chair, you cannot be considered for an award.
Position papers can be submitted through the NNMUN position paper portal. It would be appreciated if you also have a paper copy to give to the dais at the start of your committee. Since NNMUN is a tech-free conference, it would be a good idea to print out a copy for yourself as well. If you have questions about any aspect of the position paper or are not able to submit it correctly, please contact your committee's chair. If they cannot be reached, please contact either Varsha Parthasarathy (vsparthasarathy@stu.naperville203.org) or Sarah Riemer (skriemer@stu.naperville203.org)
Position Paper Guidelines
NNMUN Position papers should have the following:

A paper for each topic, 1 page in length
MLA Works Cited page for each topic
4 pages total: Topic A Position, Topic A Works Cited, Topic B Position, Topic B Works Cited

Committee: Constitutional Convention
Topic Area A (or B): Writing the Constitution
Delegation: Alexander Hamilton
Delegate: John Doe
Always refer to these guidelines if confused about the formatting of your paper.
What to Include in Position Paper
Your position paper should encapsulate your delegation's position on the topics you are debating. It should include:
Your delegation's history with the topic
Action your delegation/the UN has taken on the topic
The solutions your delegation proposes to resolve the issue
There is no set number of paragraphs to include, but typically a 3-4 paragraph paper provides all of the necessary information. Be sure to include research taken from credible sources, and remember to write from your delegation's point of view on a topic, which may not align with your personal opinions.
